Seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Staff Accountant to join a robust finance team at a well-established financial services company in downtown Los Angeles. This role plays a key part in supporting daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with regulatory and accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and internal management reports.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and financial services regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Support audit requests and provide documentation for internal and external audits.
- Assist with process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Experience: 2-4 years of accounting experience; financial services or regulated industry experience preferred.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
